SCHC Performance Medals

Rules
To Qualify
Open to Junior and Adult Amateur riders.
Medals offered at the Crossrail, 2', 2'3', 2'6", 2'9", 3', & 3'3" heights.
Riders may cross-enter into two height divisions.
Riders in the Crossrail, 2', and 2'3" flat phase may be asked to walk, rising trot, sitting trot and canter.
A lengthening of stride may also be asked.
Riders in the 2'6" - 3'3" flat phase may be asked to ride at the walk, rising trot, sitting trot and canter.
Riders may be asked for a lengthening of stride. Hand gallop and counter canter may also be asked.
No martingales are permitted in the flat phase and only traditional hunter type bits may be used.
(Gags, leverage bits and hackamores are not permitted).
The jumping phase will take place over an equitation type course with a minimum of eight fences.
No combinations.
A suitable test of three elements will be built into all height levels.
In order to qualify for year end medal finals a rider must ribbon 1st - 8th.
A rider may continue to ride in the medals throughout the year for High Point Medal Rider of the Year.
Medal finals will be offered in all over fences divisions.
All flat medal divisions will also be offered.
Riders are not required to participate in both phases.
Points are awarded the same as regular SCHC classes.
